Third seed Lincoln Academy boys lacrosse team upset top ranked Fryeburg 12-11 on Tuesday, June 12 in the State Class C semi-finals. The Eagles will take on #4 Wayneflete on Friday, June 15 at 7:30 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Stadium in Portland. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students.
The Raiders jumped out to a 5-0 lead. The Eagles scrambled back, tying the game at 7-7, 9-9, 10-10, and 11, before Nate Simmons scored the game winner with a little over three minutes to play.
Scoring for the Eagles were Michael with five goals, one assist, Avantaggio and Cullina with two goals and one assist each, Simmons two goals, and Dakota Nutter one.
Scoring for the Raiders were Eklund four, Bowles three, Caracciolo two, and Chisari and Gurnis one each.
