The Lincoln Academy girls’ swim team placed seventh at the State Class B swimming championships at the University of Maine Orono on Saturday.
Four Lady Eagles placed in two events each and placed in both frestyle relays. “For four girls to come in 7th is just fantastic. I am so proud of them,” coach Don Strout commented.
Kara Mullin medalled in the 200IM and 500 free, claiming fourth in both events. Heidi Ziegra medalled in two events, taking sixth in the 100 fly and 8th in the 200 free. Valeska Vaughn medalled in the 50 free with a 6th place finish and collected a ribbon in the 100 free with 16th place. Gretchen Konitzky collected two ribbons with a 15th place finish in the 100 free and 16th place in the 100 back.
The Lady Eagles collected the Bronze medal in the 200 free relay, and placed 5th in the 400 free relay.
