Lincoln Academy Golf Qualifies For State Tournament, Seven Individuals Qualify

After blowing up at the KVAC Shootout at Natanis Golf Course in Vassalboro on Oct. 2, Lincoln Academy‘s golf team were back on their game on Tuesday at the KVAC state qualifier at Natanis.

 

The Eagles placed second out of nine teams to qualify for the State Class B championships to be played Sat., Oct. 11 at Natanis. Lincoln shot a 369-team score on the 18 hole course. “They did fantastic,” coach Todd Brackett said.

 

Medomak Valley placed fifth with a 374, just missing a state qualifying spot by three strokes. Belfast, Waterville and Mt. Valley also qualified for the state match.

 

Lincoln had four individuals and Medomak three individuals qualify for the state individual tournament to be held Oct. 18 at Natanis.

 

To qualify, boys had to score a 92 or better, and girls a 110 or better. Qualifying for the Eagles were Ryan Carter (91), Stephen Quinlan (92), Jacob Hatch (90), and Kelsey Leeman (108); and, qualifying for the Panthers were Trevor Davis (92), Alex Greenrose (92) and Taylor MacNeill (87).

 

Also competing for Lincoln were Alex Cosgrove (96), Cale Benner (113), and Pinky Kinne (118), and for the Panthers Isaac Greenrose (109), Adam Lynch (106), and John Wilcox (103).

 

KVAC Shootout

Lincoln Academy placed fourth in the KVAC Shootout on Oct. 2 at Natanis.

 

Belfast was crowned KVAC champions with a team round of 165, Rockland was second with 180, Waterville third with 185 and Lincoln fourth with 192.

 

Ryan Carter shot a 49, Stephen Quinlan (46), Alex Cosgrove (48), Jacob Hatch (49), Cale Benner (49) and Pinky Kine (61).
