Both the Lincoln Academy girls and boys tennis teams stroked to victory in West Class B quarter-final match-ups Tuesday, at the CLC YMCA in Damariscotta.
The 4th seed LA boys defeated 5th seed Gardiner 3-0.The match was stopped due to time constraints. Theo Seidel was ahead of Trevor Backus 6-3 at first singles. Teddy Matel was in his third set with Liang Zhilin at second singles, winning the first 6-3 and losing the second 5-7. Noah Jordan swept Matt Weed 6-0.6-0 at third singles. Harrison Ransley and Liam Brinkler defeated Dylan Haskell and Joe Harnett 6-4,6-0 at first doubles. Truth Ingham and Mason Whitaker defeated Charlie Caldwell and Casey VandenBossoke 6-4,6-4 at second doubles.
Top seed and undefeated Lincoln Academy girls tennis defeated 9th seed York 4-1 Tuesday night. Leslie Sandefur swept Mia Briggs by 10-0 pro-set at first singles. Cris Garcia beat Sarah Carly 10-2 at second singles. Nettie Hoagland topped Arin D.Aquila 10-2 at third singles. Kate Westhaver and Polina Scimone beat Abby Leclerc and Elizabeth Spiller 10-8 at first doubles. Tessa Walsh and Shiann Keene lost 7-10 to Emma Cusack and Emma Gilmartin
