Lincoln Academy Winter Sports Awards

Lincoln Academy held their winter sports awards on March 3, and the swim team held their awards March 9. Awards by sport are as follows:

Indoor trackIndoor track awards were presented to Shawn Grooms (Coaches Award), Josh Sullivan (Most Improved), and Katie Moran (KVAC Academic) Boys’ basketballBoys’ basketball awards were presented to Brandon Reilly (MVP), Everett Martin (Coaches Award). SwimmingDon Strout was named KVAC Class B girls’ Coach of the Year. Strout thanked Tom Mullin for all his help at the meets, including media relations and team stats, volunteer assistant coach Cindee Young, and all the parents, with a special thanks to Laurie Urquhart and Cheryl and Scott MacDonald. Strout coached Lincoln, Wiscasset and Boothbay swim teams at the WCC pool.

Lincoln girls won the KVAC championship. Swimming awards were presented to Heidi Ziegra (Coaches Award, KVAC all conference), Izzy Zaidi (Most Improved), Will Hadden (Coaches Award, KVAC all conference), Andrew Arter (Most Improved), Kara Mullin (KVAC Female Swimmer of the KVAC meet, KVAC all conference), Gretchen Konitzky (KVAC all conference), and Valeska Vaughn (KVAC all conference). WrestlingWrestling awards were presented to Dylan York (MVP), Sam Stone (Most Improved, KVAC Academic), Sarah Alley (KVAC Academic), and Phoebe Arnold (KVAC Academic).
