Lincoln Academy and Wiscasset opened their 2008-09 swim season with a four team meet at Morse on Dec. 16. The Eagles beat Boothbay 41-0, lost to Morse 77-13 and lost to Wiscasset 55-25. Wiscasset beat Boothbay 59-0 and lost to Morse 60-34. Tim George and Dre Kuhnel captured two first place finishes each for Wiscasset, and Rachel Hanley one.
George won the 200 free in 2:02 and the 100 free in 51.45. Kuhnel won the 200 IM in 2:21 and the 100 back in 1:03. Ross Hanley was 2nd in the 100 fly in 1:02 and 100 back in 1:06. Brian Campbell took 3rd in the 500 free in 7:49 and 4th in the 100 fly in 1:16. Brandon Campbell was 4th in the 50 free in 28.67. Ryan Urquart took 5th in the 50 free in 31.42. Wiscasset boys placed 2nd in all three relays, swimming the 200 free relay in 1:48 with Kuhnel, Brian Campbell, Urquart and George; the 200 medley relay in 1:55 with Kuhnel, Hanley, George and Brandon Campbell, and the 400 free relay in 4:36 with Hanley Urquart, and the Campbell brothers.
Peter Huntington placed 2nd in the 50 free in 25.5 and 3rd in the 100 free in 59:08 for the Eagles. Matt Merritt was 4th in the 200 free in 2:38. Steven Severance was 3rd in the 100 breast in 1:26 and 5th in the 200 free in 2:40.Zachariah Merritt was 5th in the 100 free in 1:46. The Eagles were 3rd in the 200 free relay in 2:01 with Severance, M. Merritt, Luca Keuschguerian and Huntington; and 4th in the 400 free relay in 5:23 with Severance, Z. Merritt, Keushguerian and Huntington.
Rachel Hanley won the 100 breast in 1:17 and was 2nd in the 50 free in 27.4. Heather Hodgdon took 4th for Wiscasset in the 100free in 1:20.
For the Lady Eagles, Allison Fisher was 3rd in the 100 free in 1:10 and 200 free in 2:37. Carolyn Macdonald was 3rd in the 200 IM in 3:00 and 4th in the 500 free in 7:51. Julia Tichey was 3rd in the 100 back in 1:18 and 4th in the 50 free in 28.42. Katie Jackson took 3rd in the 100 fly in 1:40 and 4th in the 100 breast in 1:32. Olivia Delisle was 3rd in the 500 free in 6:45 and 4th in the 100 back in 1:24. Kelsea Miller was 5th in the 100 back in 1:59. Anna Lee was 6th in the 100 free in 1:26 and 7th in the 50 free in 34.77. Lincoln girls were 3rd in the 200 medley relay in 2:23 with Delisle, Tichy, MacDonald and Holly Martin; 3rd in the 400 free relay in 5:20 with Martin, Miller, Fisher and Delisle; and 2nd in the 200 free relay in 2:06 with MacDonald, Jackson, Fisher and Tichy.
