Lincoln Academy boy’s 4×800 relay team won the KVAC championship at Bowdoin College in Brunswick on Saturday. The win set a new Eagle indoor record in the event in a time of 8:45.5. Running a leg in the championship relay were Julian Frink, Michael McCormick, Alex Organ and Nick Smelcer.
Medomak Valley’s Nicole Nicholls won the KVAC championship in the high jump, clearing the bar at 4’10”. Nicholls also placed fifth in the 55 dash in 8.02. Amanda Young placed fifth in the long jump (13′.75″) and eighth in the 200 in 30.04. Panther JP Lobley placed fifth in the triple jump (37’8″), sixth in the long jump (16’8.75″), and seventh in the 55 dash in 7.49.
Lincoln girls were KVAC runner-ups in the 4×800 relay in 11:26.83, with Hannah Nevens, Julia Ribeiro, Allie Gorrill, and Maggie Nevens running a leg. The Lady Eagles placed fourth in the 4×200 relay in 2:03, with Michaela Peabody, Ribeiro, Ally Wehrle, and Lillian Bisset running a leg.
The Lady Eagles placed three runners in the top eight in the 800m run. Maggie Nevens placed third in 2:44.56, Hannah Nevens fourth in 2:45.45, and Gorrill seventh in 2:46.76.
Lillian Bisset placed fourth in the 55 dash in 8.0, and fifth in the 55 hurdles in 9.91. Michaela Peabody took seventh in the 55 hurdles in 10.29.
Lincoln boys placed fourth in the 4×200 relay in 1:45, with the team of Smelcer, Frink, McCormick, and Organ. The Eagles placed four runners in the top 10 in the 800m run. Nick Smelcer placed second in 2:11, Alex Organ third in 2:12, Julian Frink fifth in 2:16, and Michael McCormick 10th in 2:19.
Sean Burke was 10th in the shot put (33’9.5″). Jordan Metz was 10th in the 200 in 26.37, and Max Smith 11th in the 400 in 1:0.79.
