Lincoln Academy boys and girls placed third in their KVAC season opening track and field meet on April 16 in Winslow.
Winslow won the girls meet with 147 points, followed by Morse 145.5, LA 113.5, and Spruce Mountain 74. Morse won the boys meet with 212.83 points, followed by Spruce Mountain 120.83, LA 116.83, and Winslow 98.5.
One of the highlights of the meet was the Eagle brother and sister act, Sean and Samantha Burke, who both won their individual shot put competitions.
Tommy Thelander placed in four events, winning the 110 high hurdles in 21.0, placing 5th in the 400 in 1:08, 5th in the high jump (4’8″) and 6th in the triple jump (27’9″).
Angus Fake won the 800 in 2:29 and Isaac Knapp placed 6th in 2:37. Sean Burke won the shot put (35’3″). Lauren P-Nazzaro took 2nd in three events, the high jump (tie 5′), long jump (15’10.5″), and the triple jump (34’6″).
Abdou Dean took 3rd in the 400 in 1:02 and tied Eagle teammate Aaron V-Gonzales in the 200 in 27.5. Ian Stapp was 4th in the 400 in 1:04. Levi McAtee took 4th in the 3200 in 13:05. Isaac Knapp was 6th in the 800 in 2:37.
Placing 7th in an event were Ben Musoni in the 200 in 27.8; Travis Knof in the 400 in 1:19, and Terry Matsuda in the long jump (14’2″). Soren Fu was 8th in the 100 in 12.92.
The Eagles placed 2nd in two relays, the 4×400 in 1:10 with Fu, Dean, Riley Cushing and V-Gonzalez; and the 4×800 relay in 10:07 with Knapp, Stapp, McAtee, and Cushing.
Lincoln placed 4th in the 4×100 relay in 53.9 with Fake, Jamie Le, Matsuda, and Musoni.

Girls results
Four Lady Eagles won events, including Sophie Schumacher in the 400 in 1:06, Allison Wehrle in the 1600 racewalk in 10:21; Grace Wehrle in the 800 in 2:58, and Samantha Burke in the shot put (29’8″).
A. Wehrle placed 7th in the long jump (11’5″) and 8th in the 200 in 33.5. G. Wehrle place 6th in the long jump (11’6″).
Alysa Lewandowski took 3rd in the 400 in 1:12. Olivia Richmond placed 3rd in the triple jump (28’11”) and 4th in the 100 hurdles (19.93). Emma Allen took 4th in the 800 in 3:01 and 5th in the 100 hurdles in 20.54. Julia Ribeiro took 5th in the 200 in 32.0 and Jenny Arter 5th in the long jump (12’1″).
