Lincoln Academy boys soccer team faced a much different team the second time around against Belfast on September 20 in Newcastle. In their KVAC opener, the Eagles soared to an 8-1 win. On Tuesday, Belfast threw a offside trap at Lincoln and stifled their offense in the first half with eight offside calls.
The Lions took a 1-0 halftime lead on a rebounded Logan McHaney shot that was put in by Skylar Perkins.
Five minutes into the second half, Lincoln knotted the score when Marcel Vrany found net on a Nate Simmons cross in the box. Nolen Michael scored the game winner on a breakaway through pass from Jon Pinkham with 18:42 to play.
