Lincoln Academy boys’ soccer team wrapped up their KVAC season with a 3-2 win over Mt. View under the Friday night lights in Newcastle.
Juan Tabento made his varsity debut and scored the opening goal for the Eagles off a feed from Brad Russell with 19:26 to go in the half. Mustang Kiel Lemioux tied the score with 5:42 to go in the half.
Zach Babin gave the Mustangs the lead 18-1/2 minutes into the second half, with Justin Pierel picking up his second assist of the night. Tony Ciampa tied the score one minute later on a direct kick from 25 yards out.
Ciampa fired in the game winner with 7:32 to play when he collected a pass from Troy Carter and rifled a shot from 25 yards out to the back of the Mustangs’ net.
Both teams took 16 shots in the game. Kyle Scherer earned the win with 13 saves, and Chris Montminy made 12 saves for Mt. View.
Lincoln improves to 7-6-1 with the win.
Oak Hill 1 – Lincoln 0
The Raiders defeated Lincoln 1-0 on a goal from B. Soucy with four minutes to play. Lincoln held a 25-16 edge in shots. Scherer made seven saves for the Eagles. T. Millis made nine saves for Oak Hill.
