Lincoln Academy girls rallied from behind to beat Rockland Tuesday night in Rockland. The Eagles took a 14-13 lead at the quarter, before getting into foul trouble in the 2nd period. Lincoln was charged with 25 fouls and Rockland 26 in the sloppy game.
Katherine Bolster, Kassie Lincoln, and Anna Budrow all picked up their third foul in the 1st half and rode the pine for the better part of the 2nd quarter. The Tigers shot poorly from the line, but held on to a 28-23 lead at the half. The two teams battled in the 3rd frame, with Lincoln regaining the lead, 37-36 going into the final period. Marni Jones fouled out in the 3rd quarter.
Lincoln out scored Rockland 13-7 in the final period to win 50-43.
Scoring for Lincoln were Laura Soohey 16 (8 for 12 at foul line), Bolster 9, Lincoln 8, Marni Jones 8, Merissa Look 5, and Budrow 4. Scoring for Rockland were Hannah Plourde 13, Hannah Sirois 11, Hayli Kinney 4, Allison Curtis 4, Macy MacArthur 3, Emma Davis 3, Bridghe Curtin 2, Casey Carroll 2, and Leia Dennison 1.
Lincoln girls are 7-10, and play their KVAC finale home against Medomak Valley Thursday night.
Oak Hill made 15 of 27 fouls shots and Lincoln six of 10. Marni Jones and Kassie Lincoln fouled out and Anna Budrow had four fouls and Katherine Bolster three.
The Raiders led 9-4, 26-12, and 38-22 at the quarter breaks.
“We did a great job on Sabine. She only had 10,” Lewis added on controlling the Raiders’ big girl.
