Lincoln Academy girls basketball team just missed the playoffs last season with an 8-10 record under new head coach Kevin Feltis. Feltis is back, and so are his top two scorers Jen Genthner (12.8 per game average), and Leslie Sandefur (8.37 average).
Hayden Campbell will sit out the season with a knee injury, but her twin sister, Barrett, is back, along with returnees Danielle Pinkham, Taylor Oliver, Dani Pierce, and Olivia York. Sophia Carbonneau and Samantha Burke move up to varsity, and sophomore six-footer Ava Traina transferred in from Boothbay Region.
Rounding out the 2013-’14 roster are freshman Brie Wajer, Chloe Hallowell and Sophie Schumacher. Although the Lady Eagles are young, they have some veteran experience under their wings, and will be a strong force in a tough KVAC this season. Wajer steps into a starting role as point guard and has nearly registered a triple-double in every pre-season scrimmage this season.
