Lincoln 3 – Camden 1
Lincoln Academy softball defeated Camden 3-1 on Friday in Rockport. Abby Farrin collected the win (6K,5H,), and Anna Carney the loss (3K,7H,3R).
Lincoln got on the boards in the third inning. Danielle Pinkham and Logan Low singled. Pinkham came home on a Morgan Achorn fielder’s choice, and Low on a passed ball to give
the Eagles a 2-0 lead.
The Lady Eagles added a run in the fourth. Farrin singled and was replaced on the basepaths by pinch runner Natalie Whitney. Margaret Skiff singled home Whitney.
Camden spoiled the shutout in the fifth inning. Madi Bowman singled, moved to third on a Bode single and scored on a passed ball.
Hitting for Lincoln were Pinkham with 2 singles and Low, Farrin, Skiff, and Jenn Genthner one each. Hitting for Camden were Bowman, Bode, Hilt, and Hamalanien a single each.
Lincoln 11 – MCI 7
Lincoln Academy plated four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to beat MCI 11-7 on May 22 in Newcastle. Chloe Hallowell led off the inning with a triple, then scored the
go-ahead run on a Morgan Achorn single. Winning pitcher Abby Farrin (3I,8K,1B,1H) singled, Alyssa Smith hit an RBI double, and Logan Lowe a two-run double in the rally.
Miranda Achorn started and went four innings (7H,3K,3B).
Both teams scored a run in the first inning. The Eagles tied the game in the home half when Miranda Achorn doubled and scored on a Farrin single. Lincoln took the lead in the
second when Olivia York walked and scored.
MCI scored two runs in the top of the third to take the lead. Lincoln answered the threat with a five-run third inning. Miranda Achorn and Farrin singled and both scored on
passed balls. Kassidy Bodley walked and scored when O. York reached on an error. Pinkham walked and Hallowell hit an RBI single.
MCI came roaring back in the fourth with four runs on a walk, three errors, and two singles, including a bases-loaded single to P. Topel, who went to third on an outfielder’s
error, scoring three runs.
Hitting for Lincoln were Miranda Achorn with a double and 2 singles, Farrin 3 singles, Hallowell a triple and single, Morgan Achorn 2 singles, and Smith and Lowe a double each.
Hitting for MCI were Topel with a double and single, Lord a double and Stewart, Losee, George, Carr, and Caldwell a single each.
