Maranacook Wins The 2010 Boothbay Boys’ Basketball Classic

Maranacook topped Boothbay 8th 27-25 to win the 2010 Boys’ Basketball Classic, held at the Boothbay YMCA on March 12-14.

The YMCA did not keep records of the games. Partial games scores are as follows: Lincoln 8th 45 – Wiscasset 34; Boothbay 35- Lincoln 7th 33; Boothbay 8th 43 – Oak Hill 18; and Maranacook 44 – Georges Valley 44.

Despite multiple requests to the Boothbay YMCA, no girls’ results were provided the LCN. The following information on the tournament was provided.

NBA 2-Ball scoresGray placed first in the 2010 NBA 2-Ball competition with 44 points, Medomak 7th placed 2nd with 36 points, and Boothbay 7th third with 31 points.Tournament MVP’s and all-starsBoothbay 8th player Andrew Hallinan was named the tournament MVP in the Boys’ Basketball Classic, and Emily Bolduc of Poland was named the girls’ MVP in the Rotary International/ YMCA tourney.

The following boys were named to the Boys’ Basketball Classic All-Star team: Shawn Simmons, Jules Arsenault and Andrew Hallinan of Boothbay 8th, Tucker Cameron and Richard Hall of Maranacook, Travis Cream of Lincoln 7th, AJ Oliver and Seward Mattel of Lincoln 8th, John Hepburn and Aaron Dickinson of Boothbay 7th, Austin Haskel of Wiscasset, and John Ferguson of Georges Valley.
