Alexis Mazurek hit a solo homerun in the top of the seventh inning to lift Oceanside softball to a 3-2 win over Medomak Valley in Waldoboro on May 24. Chloe Jones collected the win, and Panther relief pitcher Addie Jameson took the loss.
Medomak jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning when Cassie Smeltzer singled and scored on a Lydia Simmons single. Oceanside took the lead in the top of the sixth when Jones singled and scored on an error and Lauren Hatch singled and scored on a passed ball.
Medomak knotted the score in the bottom of the sixth when A. Jameson singled, stole second, went to third on a throwing error and scored on a Hallie Kunesh single.
Hitting for Medomak were Smeltzer, A. Jameson, Simmons, Kunesh and Sadie Cohen with a single each. Hitting for Oceanside were Mazurek with a homerun, and Kallie Grover, Jones and Hatch a single each.
