Medomak 9&10 Little League softball all-stars won the District 2 championship Tuesday night, 9-7 over Five Town. Team members are Lucy Jameson, Gabby Parker, Taylor Podrasky, Madi Simmons, Cameron Bains, Eliza Nelson, Baylee Stewart, Autumn Ripley, Hannah Lee, Grace White, and Stephanie Morse. The team is managed by Scott Martin. Also coaching are Carrie White and Stacy Simmons. |

Medomak 9&10-year-old Little League softball all-star team won the District 2 championship Tuesday night with a 9-7 win over Five Town. The game was shortened after four innings due to a thunderstorm.
Five Town jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Olivia Ogier hit an RBI single, and Kennedy Peterson, Mattie Luce, and Clara Bragg drew bases loaded walks for an RBI each.
Medomak got two runs back in the home half of the first. Grace White reached on an error, stole around the horn, and scored on a passed ball. Autumn Ripley walked and scored on an error.
Five Town scored two in the second to lead 6-2. Medomak rallied for five runs in the bottom of the frame to take a 7-6 lead. Taylor Podrasky reached on an error and scored on a Cameron Bains ground out. Baylee Stewart walked and scored on a passed ball. White reached on a fielder’s choice, Ripley singled and Hannah Lee walked to load up the bases for RBI walks to Steph Morse and Gabby Parker.
Medomak added a run in the third when Stewart walked and scored on a bases loaded walk to Lee.
With thunder rolling in the distance, Five Town’s rally was cut short in the top of the fourth with one run. Lily Clement walked and scored before Medomak retired the final batter on a grounder back to their pitcher Morse.
Podrasky walked and scored on a passed ball in the fourth before umpires halted the game due to lightning.
Morse collected the win for Medomak (7K,10B,2H). Brown took the loss for Five Town (14B,3K,1H).
Ripley had the only hit for Medomak. Hitting for Five Town were Holly Hutchenson and Ogier with a single each.
Medomak 18 – Oceanside 11
Medomak 9&10 Little League softball all-stars defeated Oceanside 18-11 to advance to the District 2 championship game. Stephanie Morse collected the win.
Medomak jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the top of the first inning off six walks. Maddy had an RBI sacrifice, Hanah Lee, Taylor Podrasky, and Lucy Jameson RBI walks; and Grace White drove in a run on an error. Oceanside got four runs back in the home half of the inning. Medomak plated two in the second. Lee was hit by a pitch and scored on passed ball and Podrasky walked and scored on a Jameson single.
