Oak Hill raided Medomak in Waldoboro on April 29 for an 8-7 win. The Raiders took full advantage of four Panthers errors. Dale Winchenbach (5K, 3B, 7H) took the loss.
The Raiders scored four runs in the 1st and four in the 4th to win. Medomak plated a run in the 1st on a bunt single to Alex Goldrup and RBI sacrifice fly to Steven Genthner. They added three in the 4th on a single to Winchenbach, walks to Genthner, Taylor Williamson and Dillon Reed and a single to Dustin Osier. Medomak scored three in the 5th on a single to Goldrup, walks to Winchenbach and Williamson a two run single to Reed and single to Isaac Durkee.
Medomak loaded up the bases in the 7th with one out but were unable to push the tying run across the plate. The Panthers stranded 10 base runners in the game.
Hitting for Medomak were Goldrup with three, Reed two and Williamson, Durkee, Osier and Winchenbach one each. Hitting for Oak Hill were Tennett and Plourde with two each, and Rines, Turcotte, Peru and Marmoult one each.
Chris Benedict collected the shutout win (5H,3B,5K), backed up errorless defense. Clough took the loss (2H,4K,7B) in the pitcher’s duel.
Genthner and Reed collected the only hits for the Panthers. Hitting for the Bears were Palmer, Ogren, Duplisse, Guild and Shell with a single each.
Alex Wheelock hit a grandslam in the 1st to get the bats rolling for Gardiner. Medomak scored one in the bottom of the frame when Genthner singled, stole second and scored on a Reed single. The Panthers added two runs in the 3rd on singles to Goldrup and Winchenbach and an RBI sacrifice fly from Genthner. Winchenbach scored on a passed ball.
Medomak prevented the mercy ruling with three runs in the 4th. Williamson, Bartlett (RBI) and Goldrup (RBI) hit doubles, and Reed drove in a run when he reached on an error. Williamson hit a solo homerun in the 5th.
Hitting for Medomak were Williamson with a homerun, double and single, Goldrup a double and single, Genthner 2 singles, Bartlett a double, and Winchenbach and Reed a single each. Hitting for Gardiner were Wheelock with a homerun and 2 singles, Chris Howe two hits and Forest Chadwick, Donnie Cray, Tony Plourde and Ben Chelsey a single each.
Medomak collected four hits in the loss, a double to Winchenbach, and singles to Patrick Thompson, Williamson, and I. Durkee.
Andrew Ballantyne collected the win for the Eagles. Tom Grady hit three singles, Walter Travis a double and single, Shyler Scates and Walter Travis two singles each, Ethan Wall and Ryan Pulver a double each, and Harland Ogilvie a single.
