Medomak Valley baseball picked up their first win of the season 7-3 over Mt. View on Friday. Nicholas DePatsy collected the win (5I,7K,2B,5H,3R) and Riley McCollett the save (2I,3K,1B,1H). Senior Micah Williamson paced the offense, batting 1.000 with two hits, four runs, and five stolen bases.
The Panthers jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning. Micah Williamson singled, stole to third, and scored on a McCollett single. McCollett stole second, went to third on a passed ball, and scored on an Ollie Brown sacrifice fly. Patrick Madden reached on an error and scored on a Isaac Eustler single. Bryce Collamore drove in a run when he reached on an error.
Medomak added a run in the second when Williamson walked, moved to third on a balk and a stolen base, and scored on a McCollett single. They added a run in the fourth. Williamson singled, stole second, and scored on a Brown single.
Mt. View scored all three of its runs in the fifth inning, highlighted by an RBI double from Reynolds and an RBI single from Hannan. The inning ended when a Mustang baserunner ran into a line drive.
Medomak added a run in the sixth. Williamson drew a walk, stole second, and scored on a sacrifice fly from Madden.
Hitting for Medomak were Williamson and McCollett with two singles each, Collamore a double, and Brown, I. Eustler, and Madden a single each. Hitting for Mt. View were Wren with two doubles, Reynolds a double and single, and Hannan and Richards a single each.
Camden 2 – Medomak 0
Camden Hills defeated Medomak Valley 2-0 in their KVAC opener on April 22 in Rockport. Ben Rollins collected the win (7K,1B) surrendering just one hit, a third inning single to Nick DePatsy.
Medomak senior Micah Williamson scattered seven hits (4K,0B) in the loss.
Camden scored both their runs in the second inning. Andrew Hall hit a leadoff single, moved to second on a Dalton Wickendon sacrifice bunt and scored on a Cam Lafiecite single. Lafiecite moved to third on a Kyle Crans double and scored on an RBI ground out from Dalton Oakes.
Hitting for Camden were Crans with a double and single, and Ryan Pierce, Ben Rollins, Mike Wolff, Hall, and Lafiecite a single each.
Erskine 7 – Medomak 4
Erskine Academy’s baseball team rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh inning to beat Medomak Valley 7-4 in Waldoboro on Tuesday. Rodrigue got the start for the Eagles and Glidden collected the win.
Pitching for the Panthers were Riley McCollett (5I,3B,3H,3K,3R), Jackson Vail (1 1/3I, 0B,0K,1H,0R), and Ollie Brown (1 2/3 I, 0B,0K,1H,3R).
Medomak took a 1-0 lead in the home half of the first inning when Micah Williamson walked and scored on a wild pitch.
Erskine tied the game in the top of the second when Cummings singled and scored on an error.
Medomak retook the lead with two runs in the bottom of the second. Bryce Collamore doubled, Vail walked, and both scored on an error.
Erskine took a 4-3 lead in the fifth with three runs off two hits and two errors. Isbell had an RBI single in the inning.
Medomak tied the game in the sixth when Isaac Eustler reached on an error and scored when Collamore reached on an error.
The Eagles scored three in the top of the seventh to win. Rodrigue hit an RBI sacrifice and Cummings an RBI single in the rally.
Hitting for Medomak were Collamore a double and Brown a single. Hitting for Erskine were Cummings with two singles, and Peabody, Rodrigue, and Isbell a single each.
