Medomak Valley baseball picked up a pair of wins this week to improve their record to 8-7. The Panthers make-up their Rockland game on June 3 at Rockland.
The Panthers led 6-1 after two innings. The Panthers scored four runs in the 1st on a solo blast to Winchenbach, an RBI sacrifice to Dustin Osier and a two run single to Isaac Greenrose. They added two runs in the 2ndd on an RBI triple to Winchenbah and an RBI sacrifice to Genthner.
Belfast scored six runs in the 4th to take a 9-6 lead. Dale Winchenbach and Steven Genthner hit back to back solo homeruns in the 4th inning to pull the Panthers within one.
The Panthers powered up their bats for five runs in the 5th to take the lead for good. Greenrose hit a lead-off single, Chris Benedict and Goldrup walked, Winchenbach hit a three run triple, Genthner and Dillon Reed a single each. Genthner scored on a passed ball.
Medomak added four runs in the top of the 6th. Goldrup hit a leadoff single and scored on a Winchenbach single. Genthner singled and Reed drove in two runs when he reached on an error.
Hitting for Medomak were Winchenbach with two homeruns, two triples, and a single, Steven Genthner a homerun and two singles (2RBI). Isaac Greenrose hit two single (3RBI), Dillon Reed had a single (2RBI), Dustin Osier had 2 RBI, Isaac Durkee had a double and single, and Alex Goldrup and John Bartlett a single each.
Hitting for Belfast were Jack Davis with two singles, Nick Thibodeau a double and Derrick Bernoski, Matt Steinart, Josh Beal, Cote Ward, Mike Berry and Eric Peters a single each.
Medomak scored one run in the 1st when Alex Goldrup walked and scored on a Steven Genthner sacrifice bunt. The Panthers added two runs in the bottom of the 5th. Buddy Simmons singled and scored on a Goldrup single. Genthner drove home Goldrup with a single.
Hitting for Medomak were Goldrup, Genthner, Isaac Durkee and Simmons with a single each.
