Medomak Valley boys’ and girls’ cross country teams were victorious in Newcastle on Sept. 25 at Lincoln Academy’s Homecoming meet. Eleven Panther runners ran their career personal best times in the race. Medomak girls placed five scoring runners in the top 11, and the boys five in the top 15.
The undefeated Medomak girls (23-0) won the race with 28 points, Winslow 60, Lincoln 67, Camden 90 and Erskine 101.
Lady Eagle Nikki Leeman ran to her second straight victory, owning her home course in 20:47, beating out Panther Kiana Ocean by 19 seconds. Ocean led Medomak with a second place finish in 21:06; Gwen Moiles was third in 21:08; Alyssa Griggs sixth in 22:19; Nicole Weaver seventh in 22:21; and Heidi Harris 11th in 22:52 to round out the Panthers’ scoring five.
Also running for the Panthers were: 17. Jordan Hopkins, 23:56; 23. Missy Philbrook, 24:25; 27. Maddie Bodine, 26:38; 30. Bailey Black, 26:58; 33. Abby Vail, 27:32; 40. Ashley Luce, 29:47.
The Lady Eagles placed third, led by race winner Nikki Leeman in 20:47. Also running for Lincoln were: 13. Hannah Fake, 23:01; 14. Katrina Belle, 23:20; 21. Celia Howland, 24:21; 24. Allison Fisher, 24:49; 32. Katie Williams, 27:28; and 37. Ashley Miller, 28:59.
Erskine’s Sam Seekins won overall in 16:18, beating out Camden’s Ryan Widzgowski by 40 seconds. Patrick O’Donnell led the Panthers with a third place finish in 17:19. Josh Parmenter took sixth in 18:17, Joe Murphy 10th in 19:03, Andrew Allen 13th in 19:34 and Stefan Nichols 15th in 19:48 to complete the scoring five.

Lincoln boys placed fifth, led by fourth place finisher Gary Ward in 17:22. Steven Severance placed 23rd in 20:39, Alex Benner 26th in 20:41, Shawn Grooms 37th in 21:55, and Wyatt Ray 41st in 22:03 to complete the scoring five. Also running for the Eagles were: 42. Dylan York, 22:04; 45. Ranger Langton, 22:34; 50. Timothy Leeman, 23:18; 56. Daniel Mayer, 25:10; 59. Matt Poland, 25:37 and 61. Peter Wells, 28:14.
