Medomak Valley boys’ basketball team defeated Presque Isle 46-42 in the East Class B quarterfinals Saturday morning. They take on Camden on Wed., Feb. 17 at 3:30 p.m. in the semifinals. Presque Isle took a 5-0 lead, and led 13-10 at the quarter break, before Medomak held them to four points in the second frame to lead 22-17 at the half. Medomak extended their lead to 12, then held off a late push from Presque Isle. Scoring for Medomak were Alex MacKenzie 15, Dan Aubel 8, Isaac Greenrose 7, Isaac Durkee 6, John Bartlett 4, Jason Vinal 4 and Dustin Osier 2. Presque Isle was led by Dyer with 14 and Eaton 11.
In other playoff news, Lincoln Academy lost to Mt.Valley 64-33 inthe West B quarterfinals at the Portland Expo Saturday morning. The Eagles led 11-6 after the first four minutes, before their shooting went cold. The Falcons were red hot, led by Cameron Kaubis with 30 points.
