Medomak Valley boys basketball team have big shoes to fill this season, coming into the season in the shadow of last year’s KVAC and East B champions, who were 16-2 in the KVAC and 19-3 overall.
Only two players return with significant varsity playing experience, Micah Williamson and Nicholas DePatsy. Zach Starr, Colton Spear, Zach Little, Hunter Wincapaw and Michael Wadsworth return with some varsity experience, but the brunt of the team are rookies.
New to the team are Jon Allard, Noah Beck, Hunter Baughman, Jackson Vail, Cameron Allaire, Robert Cole and Tyler Emerson.
The Panthers were rock solid in pre-season action at the Matthew Budrow Memorial Tournament on Saturday, easily handling Erskine Academy, and beating Class A Mt. Ararat. “If we play defense like that, we’ll do okay,” returning coach Nick DePatsy said.
