Medomak Valley boys’ basketball team won the CLC YMCA Undergrad tournament held on Feb. 22, 23 and 25. The Panthers defeated Lincoln Academy 62-56 in overtime in the championship game. Freshman John Murray was named Player of the Tournament.
In overtime, the two squads traded hoops twice, before Medomak scored four straight, on a basket from Greenrose and two foul shots from I. Durkee. Lincoln pulled within two with 38 seconds left on a basket from Lincoln. Greenrose scored on a full court pass from Murray, then Murray and Osier scored two foul shots each to put the game away.
Scoring for Medomak were Greenrose 22, Murray 18, Durkee 11, Judkins 5 and Osier 4. Scoring for Lincoln were Martin 15, Scherer 11, D. Leavitt 9, Reilly 5, R. Leavitt 4, Dodge 3, Phinney 3, Lincoln 2, Zach Steeves 2, and Stephen Quinlan 2.
Scoring for Boothbay were Simmons 26, Morton 10, Orne 10, Caron 10, Hallinan 2, Lewis 2, Durgan 2 and Sprague 2. Scoring for Wiscasset were Sonia 17, Dalton 9, Benn 6, Bryant 5, Weatherbee 4, Brewer 4, Murphy 2, and Rines 2.
