Waldoboro 7 – Lincoln 5
Medomak Valley 11&12 Little League all-stars defeated Lincoln County 7-5 in Saturday’s opening District 2 game in Rockport on Saturday. Connor Simmons pitched four scoreless innings for the win (9K,5B,1H,1R), and Travis Wyman (1I,0K,0B,1H,0R), Gabe Allaire (1/3I, 2B,2H,0K,4R), and Darius Pierpont (2/3I, 1H) pitched in relief.
Adam Sirois took the loss for Lincoln (2I,6R,2K,2B,6R), and Quincy Perry pitched in relief (3I,1R,2H,6K,3B,1HP).
Medomak scored two runs in the second inning. Max Lutte and Jonah Miller singled. Lutte scored on a passed ball and Miller on a wild throw back to the pitcher on the same play.
Medomak added four runs in the third on five straight hits, Duncan Widdecombe, Darius Pierpont and Jordan Powell (2RBI) hit singles, Gabe Allaire an RBI double, and C. Simmons an RBI single. They added a run in the fourth to take a 7-0 lead when Travis Wyman walked and went around the horn on wild pitches and scored on an error.
Lincoln County got on the boards in the fifth with one run. Joseph Giberson walked and scored on a Perry single. Lincoln threatened in the top of the sixth with Sirois walked and Chase Crockett and Ben Carter singled to load up the bases for an RBI walk to Erik Harvey, and two run single to Tiger Cumming. Harvey scored on a Josh Tomasello sacrifice fly.
Hitting for Medomak were Allaire with 2 doubles, and Widdecombe, Pierpont, Powell, C. Simmons, Lutte, and Miller a single each. Hitting for Lincoln were Perry with 2 singles, and Cumming, Crockett, and Harvey one each.
Oceanside 14 – Lincoln 2
Oceanside eliminated Lincoln County 11&12 Little League all-stars from the District 2 playoffs on Sunday with a 14-2 mercy ruling win.
Jason Greenleaf took the loss for Lincoln. Tiger Cumming reached on a walk in the first inning and scored on a delayed steal, and Quincy Perry hit a solo homerun in the third. The only other Lincoln hits were singles to Cumming and Adam Sirois.
