Medomak Middle School eighth-graders came from behind to beat Belfast 55-45 in the Busline League Large School A Championship game Saturday on their home court in Waldoboro.
The Riverhawks jumped out to an 18-13 first quarter lead on sharp shooting from Taylor McLain with three threes. Lion’s defender Gerard Coward kept McLain quiet the rest of the game. Belfast hit the boards hard in the second period and out-scored Medomak 15-7 to take a 28-25 lead at the half.
