The Medomak Valley girls soccer team have been awarded the 2016 North Class B MPA good Sportsmanship award. The Lady Panthers join the wrestling team to become only the second sport at Medomak to earn back to back sportsmanship awards.
The team travels to Hampden Academy on Sat., Nov. 5 to receive the award, at 10 a.m., at the State B championship game between Hermon and Waterville.
“I am extremely pleased to learn the girl’s varsity soccer team has won another sportsmanship banner. I want to thank Mr. Lash for his ongoing commitment to running an outstanding athletic program that demands high levels of academic achievement, integrity, discipline and good manners. I want to thank Coach Jensen and Coach Hastings for demanding the highest standards for the team (who also won the school’s ‘Highest Team GPA award’ with a 3.5 ) and lastly I want to thank the young women on the soccer team for conducting themselves in such a positive fashion. This award continues to build Medomak Valley’s reputation as an academic institution with a very positive student body who treats everyone with respect,” principal Andrew Cavanaugh said.
