Medomak Valley’s indoor track team may be short in numbers, but they are long on talent. The girls won the KVAC 4 by 800 relay in 10:48.54 at the league championship meet Friday night at Bowdoin College.
Running a leg on the girls’ team were Kiana Ocean, Megan Wyllie, Taylor Keefe and Gwen Moiles. Patrick O’Donnell won the 400 in 54.55.
Moiles was KVAC runner-up in the mile in 5:41. Wyllie was fourth in the 800 in 2:46. Ocean placed fifth in the mile in 5:56 and Keefe 12th in 6:36. Khalil Parker placed fifth in the 200 in 26.5, sixth in the senior 55 sprint in 7.45 and eighth in the long jump (15’4.75″). O’Donnell placed seventh in the 800 in 2:20.
Winslow girls won with 144 points, followed by Waterville 128, Rockland 32, Camden 32, Erskine 25, Medomak 24, Gardiner 18, and Belfast 5.
In the boys’ KVAC championships, Waterville won with 231, Winslow 117.5, Erskine 116.5, Rockland 35, Mt. View 21, Gardiner 20, Medomak 13, Belfast 13, Camden 10, and MCI 8.
