The Medomak JV girls soccer team has wrapped up its season with four wins. “We were on the losing end of many close contests. With small numbers, every girl worked hard to support the team and played hard in an attempt to win,” coach Scott Hastings said.
The Lady Panthers scored 20 goals, led by Abby Nelson with nine goals and one assist. Also scoring for Medomak were Aubrey Schaeffer (3g, 1a), Talia Willis (2g, 3a), Rose Hickey (2g, 1a), Jette Keene (1g), Cassie Smeltzer (1g), Anna Wadsworth (1g), Melayna Benner (1g), Hattie Watmough (4a), and Maddy White (1a).
“Emylee Leary did great in goal. She stepped up in the preseason when we didn’t have (a goalkeeper) and volunteered to get the job done. Her leadership was a huge part of our successful season,” Hastings said.
Leading the defense were Brianna Luce, Jette Keene, Kaysee Leary, Mackenzie Bickmore, Alaina Bissett, Josie Jameson, Anna Wadsworth, Hattie Watmough, and Melayna Benner.
“Cassie Smeltzer, Aubrey Schaefer, and Maddy White played anywhere and everywhere to fill in where needed and gave 100 percent, despite having to log a lot of minutes in the varsity games that preceded the JV games,” Hastings said.
