Medomak Valley wrestling coach Philip Genthner walked into the Medomak Valley gymnasium at the close of the MVHS Holiday Classic carrying a huge trophy and a big smile on his face. His Panther wrestling team finished second at the PVHS tournament, with all eight participating wrestlers placing in the top four in the 14 team tournament. PVHS took first with 139 points and Medomak second with 119.
Steven Genthner (145) won his division; Ben Lufkin (125) and Taylor Olson (140) placed 2nd; Cheyanne Augustine (119) and Dylan Look (189) placed 3rd; and Adam Lynch (135), Trevor Neilson (171) and Gabe Delano (215) placed 4th. Georges Valley independent, wrestling with Medomak placed 3rd as well.
Coach Genthner was not provided any bracket sheets of individual results, and PVHS staff said the results would be sent. Medomak Valley had not received the results as of Tues., Dec. 29.

Ben Lufkin (119) won by forfeit and pinned Kayla Smart (OH) in 44 seconds. Cheyanne Augustine (125) pinned Britln Kramer (OH) in 53 seconds and was pinned by Matt DelGallo in 1:58. Stefan Nicholls (130) was pinned by Dan Delgallo (G) in 1:03 and Craig Morrill (OH) in 2:54, and pinned Gabby Crosson (Hall-Dale) in 28 seconds. Adam Lynch (135) was pinned by Wyatt Thorton in 4:20 and by Jonnie Vannah (OH) in 2:49. Taylor Olsen (140) won by forfeit and lost an 11-7 decision to Zach Abram (G). Steven Genthner (145) pinned Chandler Smith (G) in 48 seconds and won by forfeit. Chris Nason (171) was pinned by Colby Brown (G) in 31 seconds and Dillon Tibbetts (OH) in 1:31. Dylan Look (189) was pinned by Lance Williams (G) in 48 seconds, and lost a 3-0 decision to Mike Hamm (OH). Gabe Delano (215) pinned Zach Surette (OH) in 1:33 and was pinned by Tyler Salley (G) in 5:54.
