Medomak picked up a big win Monday night, beating Maranacook 10-8 in an 11-inning marathon game. The Black Bears self destructed in the top of the 11th. John Murray reached on a dropped third strike, moved to third on a Brandon Gresham single, and both scored when Adam Lynch reached on an error.
Alex Greenrose got the start and went 3-1/3 innings (6R, 5H, 1K, 4B). Isaac Durkee collected the win (3H, 7K, 7B). “Isaac Durkee showed true leadership pitching 7-2/3 innings,” coach Scott Hastings said.
Maranacook jumped out to a 7-0 lead after four innings, padded by 6 errors. Medomak started their comeback bid in the 6th with 4 runs on 2 walks, 2 errors and an RBI single to Gabe Delano and RBI double to Adam Lynch. The Panthers tied the score in the top of the 7th on a 3-run homerun from John Murray scoring I. Durkee and A. Greenrose.
Medomak took the lead in the 9th. Chris Benedict singled, and pinch runner Cody Ames moved to 3rd on a ground out and walks to Murray and Delano and scored on a passed ball.
The Bears tied the score in the home half of the inning when Dakota Duplisse reached on an error, moved over on an Eben Ballard single, Tucker Whitman intentional walked and scored on a Cameron Guild walk.
Neither team scored in the 10th, before Medomak took a 2-run lead in the 11th inning. Maranacook loaded up the bases in the home half of the inning, but were unable to bring anyone home with the game ending on a ground out.
Incomplete hitting stats were provided. I. Durkee had 2 singles, Murray a homerun, Lynch a double and Delano, A. Greenrose, Benedict and Gresham a single each. Hitting for Maranacook were Duplisse with a triple and single, Nathan Johnson a double and single, Ballard 2 singles and Whitman a single.
Medomak scored all the runs they needed in the 2nd with three runs. Adam Lynch singled and scored on a Brandon Gresham single. Gresham scored on an error. Kyle Durkee walked and Chris Benedict hit an RBI single. Isaac Greenrose doubled in the 3rd and scored on a wild pitch. The Panthers broke the game open in the 4th with four runs. K. Durkee singled and scored on a passed ball. Isaac Durkee doubled and scored on a Benedict double. Alex Greenrose walked and Gabe Delano hit an RBI double. Gresham was hit by a pitch in the 5th and scored on an I. Durkee fielder’s choice.
Medomak ended the game early in the top of the 6th with three runs. Delano singled and scored on a wild pitch. Lynch reached on a fielder’s choice, Soper hit an RBI single and Gresham an RBI sacrifice fly.
MCI rallied in the bottom of the 6th, scoring two runs on RBI singles to Crocker and Michaud, but were unable to stop the mercy ruling win.
Hitting for Medomak were I. Greenrose with 2 doubles, Delano and Benedict a double and single each, I. Durkee a double, and Soper, Gresham, Cody Ames and Lynch a single each. Hitting for MCI were Crocker with 2 and Zack Fortin, Michaud and Jerett Mitchell one each.
