Medomak Valley’s golf team were 3-6 going into their final match of the season against topped ranked and undefeated Lincoln Academy Tuesday in Rockland. The Eagles won more matches, but struggled, shooting an uncharacteristic 182, to fall 5.5 to 3.5 to the Panthers. Medomak shot a team round of 178.
“They kind of handed it to us,” Medomak coach Peter Stuart said. “Our season ended on a positive note. It gives us a little more confidence going into the State Qualifier on Tuesday (at Natanis),” Stuart added.
Isaac Greenrose (44) beat Malcolm Oliver by four strokes. Adam Lynch (45) tied with Seward Matel. Alex Greenrose (46) lost to Stephen Quinlan by a stroke. Kyle Durkee (47) lost to Goran Johanson by two strokes. Low medallist Zach Judkins (43) defeated Jalen Lincoln by four strokes. Ryan Merrifield (56) lost to Alex Cosgrove (51).
Malcolm Oliver (38) lost to low medallist Colby Blanchard by three strokes. Seward Matel (43) beat Eric Larrabee by two strokes. Stephen Quinlan (39) defeated Zach Coleman (63). Goren Johanson (43) out stroked Dash Albright (59). Cody Graves (44) beat Owen Freeman (61).
In JV action, Alex Cosgrove (40) beat Joe Poulin (54), and Casey Poland (45) topped Montana Maynard (63).
