Medomak Valley boys’ Undergrad basketball team wrapped up their season with a 7-3 record. The Panthers competed in three tournaments, winning the CLC YMCA tourney, losing to Gardiner in the Kennebec Valley YMCA tourney, and winning four of six games at Bar Harbor.
The team was sponsored by Bob Cain. “He sponsored us at all three tournaments. We really appreciate it,” coach Jeremy Reynolds said.
“They are a young team and were missing two big players in Tyler Isidro and Alex Greenrose, but they did very well,” Reynolds added.
In the Bar Harbor tournament, Medomak placed fourth in their bracket. They lost their first game to Ellsworth, then beat Deer Isle Stonington, MDI, Sumner and Calais before they were eliminated by county rivals Lincoln Academy.
Scoring for Medomak were John Murray 8, Isaac Durkee 8, Zach Judkins 5, Jonathan Hendrickson 4, Deering Genthner 3, Isaac Greenrose 2, Shane Osier 2, and Alex Greenrose 1.
“It was our third game in five hours. We just had nothing left,” Reynolds said. “Lincoln was out to avenge their loss to us (at CLC Y tournament). We came out with a little spark, and then you could see it in their eyes. They were just beat.”
