Medomak Valley High School held their spring sports awards ceremony on Monday, June 15. Booster president Sherry Vail handed out flowers to Medomak seniors.
The GPA award went to the varsity baseball team with a 3.37. The varsity softball team was second with a 3.3. The average of all spring athletes was a 2.9.
MVHS Athletic Director Matt Lash announced he and Assistant Principal Andrew Cavanaugh presented the MVHS Service Award to school Principal Harold Wilson earlier in the day.
In an emotional statement, Lash said that Wilson had given unselfishly to Medomak Valley and the community.
“He cared deeply about this school. He put the kids first,” Lash said. Lash added that the award was in sincere appreciation of Wilson’s 25 years of service to SAD 40 and Medomak Valley.
Senior sportsmanship awards were presented to Nicole Nicholls and Micah Williamson.
Medomak presented two new awards this spring, underclass academic awards and three sport athlete awards.

Lobley (KVAC Academic, 3 letter plaque), Nick York (Coaches Award, 3 letter plaque), Deagan Poland (3 letter plaque), Daniel Bubar (3 letter plaque), and Kenneth Pruyne (Most Improved).
Softball awards went to Gabby DePatsy (KVAC Coastal Division All-star, MVP), Sophie Cohen (KVAC Coastal Division All-star), Hannah Watmough (Most Improved), Abby Nelson (Coaches Award), and Hallie Kunesh (Most Improved).
DePatsy (.404) and Cohen (.387) led Medomak in hitting. DePatsy had a slugging percentage of .659 and Cohen .621. DePatsy and Cohen had 23 hits each, with DePatsy having 10 extra base hits and Cohen nine.
