The Midcoast Ice Cats defeated Waterville 4-2 at the Midcoast Recreation Center on Dec. 19. Sam Stone, Lincoln Academy, had two assists in the first period.
The Midcoast Ice Cats stormed out to a 3-1 lead in the first period on goals by Christian Kirchner, Rockland, and twins Kyle and Tyler Hadyniak, Mount View.
Lincoln Spear, Rockland, completed the scoring for the Ice Cats in the third period on an open net goal as Waterville pulled their goalie in an attempt to even the score in regulation.
Waterville scored in the first and third periods on goals by Lance LeFebve and Matt Lee, both on assists by J.T. Whitten.
Goalie Tyler Fogg, Rockland, was exceptional in the net for the Ice Cats only allowing two goals among a barrage of scoring opportunities for Waterville.
The Midcoast Ice Cats High School Hockey Club is a regional athletic club sport sponsored by Rockland District High School in MSAD 5.
