Medomak 3 – Searsport 0
Medomak Middle School shutout Searsport 3-0, with Brandon Soper in net for the River Hawks. Kerry Madden booted home a Jonathan H-Bellouguet corner kick to put Medomak up 1-0 at the half. Devon Sproul scored on a Boone Olsen pass, and Madden headed in a Bellouguet feed in the second half.
Medomak 5 – GSB 1
The Riverhawks defeated the Cougars 5-1. Sproul netted two goals and Calvin Robbins, Conor Dahlberg and Cadisen Wills one each. Robbins had two assists, and Madden and Olsen one each.
Medomak 4 – Rockland 0
Medomak Middle School wrapped up their Busline League season with a 6-2 record. Sproul, Robbins, Dahlberg and David Bryant scored, with Robbins, Sproul Olsen and Devin Field picking up assists. Soper and Dahlberg combined in net for the shutout win. The River Hawk’s stellar defense allowed just two Rockland shots.
Medomak 1 – GSB 0
Medomak Middle School and GSB played to a scoreless tie in the first round of the Busline League playoffs Tuesday in Waldoboro. After two overtime periods, the score was still 0-0 forcing penalty kicks.
The Cougars missed their first kick wide. Cougar keeper Jonathan Riley stopped Kenny Madden’s attempt. Jake Maxmin rang his shot off the crossbar for GSB, MMS’s Cal Robbins missed wide, and Israel Daiute hit the cross bar for GSB. Conor Dahlberg’s PK rang true to put Medomak up by one. Medomak’s keeper Brandon Soper tipped GSB’s Spencer Alden’s shot over the top. Medomak’s Brandon Demmons then sealed the win when he found net.
GSB dominated the first half with a solid passing game, but managed only two shots against a powerful River Hawk defense. Medomak managed just two shots in the half as well. Second half action belonged to Medomak with a 16-0 advantage in shots, but Riley stood firm in net with 13 saves to force OT. Both squads had one shot each in the first overtime, and Medomak managed one shot in the second. Medomak’s record is 7-2.
Girls’ soccer
Medomak 8 – Rockland 0
Medomak Middle School girls beat Rockland 8-0 in the Busline League playoff opening game in Waldoboro on Tuesday. The River Hawks scored four goals in each half.
Heidi Obushon opened scoring with 28:01 to play on a feed from Emily Leach. Sammy Griffin scored on a nice slant pass from Obushon. Obushon collected her second assist of the night when she faked a shot and dished off to Maria Ennamorati to put Medomak up 3-0. McKenzie Belcher scored on cross from Griffin. Second half action saw Ennamorati score on a Danielle Hunt corner kick; Belcher score on a Leach cross; Leach scored on an Amanda Hendrickson through pass; and Jessica Prescott score unassisted.
