Monmouth collected a 4-2 win over Wiscasset girls soccer in Wolverines’ Homecoming game Saturday night. Wiscasset stayed with the Mustangs in first half action, trailing 1-0 at the break.
Hayley Fletcher scored the first goal for the Mustangs, and Sydney Wilson and Fletcher added second half goals. Down 2-0, Wiscasset pulled within one when Miranda McIntire scored on a direct kick. Monmouth’s last two goals were scored three minutes apart to put them up 4-1. McIntire scored her second goal on a line drive shot to the corner.
Kayla Gordon made 12 stops in net for Wiscasset and Mikayla Cameron had three saves for Monmouth.
Mt. Valley 4 – Wiscasset 2
Mt. Valley defended their home turf on Sept. 26 for a 4-2 win over Wiscasset. Abbie Mazza and Leane McNally scored two goals each for Mt. Valley. McNally’s second goal was scored on a penalty kick, called when Wolverine keeper Kayla Gordon played the ball with her feet and a Mt. Valley player went down on the play.
Hanna Foye scored on a corner kick when the ball spun out of goalkeeper Karen Flaherty’s hands. McIntire fired in the second goal with 4:33 remaining in the game.
Gordon made 10 saves for Wiscasset, and Flaherty eight for Mt. Valley.

Mt. Abram 3 – Wiscasset 1
The Roadrunners defended their home turf on Tuesday for a 3-1 win over Wiscasset girls soccer. Mt. Abram scored three goals in a seven minute span over two halves in their win.
After 33 scoreless minutes of play, Kate Gordon converted a pass from Lindsay Huff. Huff scored three minutes later to give the Roadrunners a 1-0 lead at the break. Huff found net again, just 23 seconds into the second half on a feed from Kinsey Taylor.
Wiscasset got on the boards with 33:43 remaining when Miranda McIntire converted a direct kick.
Wiscasset held a 24-13 edge in shots. Kayla Gordon made eight saves for Wiscasset and Abbie Brackley 14 for Mt. Abram.
After winning their first three games of the season, Wiscasset lost their last six. “We really need to step up our game and figure things out. Hopefully this will move them in the direction we need to go. We can’t blame our injuries, everyone has had a chance to step up,” coach Duane Goud said.
