Bethany Field will teach ballet and modern dance classes at Midcoast Dance Studio in Newcastle this fall. Field began to dance at the age of three. As a performer and teacher, she has continued to explore the human body’s potential for creative expression and innovative movement.
Field studied with Elizabeth Hansen in Auburn. She joined the Portland Ballet’s CORPS program in 2000 and trained at Goucher College in Baltimore, Md., where she earned a B.A. in psychology. She has also attended various summer programs, including the South Caroline Summer Dance Conservatory, the Joffrey Ballet Training Intensive, and the Bates Dance Festival.
Field enjoys sharing her love of dance through teaching. Most recently, she has performed with the Androscoggin Ballet Company. She is also the choreographer and dancer with the Portland Symphony Orchestra’s Magic of Christmas production.
