Medomak Valley junior Nicole Nicholls jumped her way to a State Class B high jump championship on June 7 in Brewer. Nicholls matched her personal best and cleared the bar at
5’2″ to beat a competitive field. It was a jumper’s day with temperatures nearing 90 degrees.
“Nicole is a talented athlete whose passion is high jumping. She was recently added as a team captain,” coach George Gould said.

Nicholls settled for second place in the 2014 state indoor and KVAC championship high jump competition. On Saturday, “she had to win against both of those girls who had edged
her out in the previous two big meets. She will only get better and we are looking for her to improve on her personal best next season,” Gould said.
