Fourth seed North Yarmouth Academy hosted Lincoln Academy lacrosse on June 9 and wasted no time defending their home turf in the East B quarterfinal match-up. NYA scored their first goal 41 seconds into the game and led 6-0 at the quarter break. The Panthers went on to win 12-1.
Eagle senior Ethan Wajer spoiled the shutout with a goal midway through the second period. Two minutes later, Wajer picked up two well-deserved penalties in five seconds for slashing in frustration of NYA’s physical defense. Wajer’s temper landed him in the penalty box for four minutes.
NYA out shot Lincoln 15-6 in the first half. The Eagles picked up their offensive intensity in the second half, holding a 19-10 advantage in shots. Panther keeper Taylor Norton was a brick wall, rejecting 10 shots. Hayden (Crowell) Brown made eight stops in net for the Eagles.
Scoring for NYA were Phil Champoux with 4 goals, 1 assist, Tim Millett 2 goals, 1 assist, Dylan Seely 2 goals, 1 assist, and Finn Hadlock (2 assists), Forrest Milburn, Oliver Siverson and Mike Morrison one each. Matthew Kibler had two assists.
