Oceanside hit the cover off the ball in their 18-6 win over Medomak in the District 2 11&12 baseball all-star semifinals on July 13 in Knox. Hunter Norton led the charge, driving in seven runs on five hits, including three home runs, to power Oceanside to an 18-6 lead over Medomak 11&12 Little League all-stars on July 13 in Knox. Norton hit an RBI double in the first, a two-run home run in the fourth, a solo home run in the fifth, and a three-run blast in the sixth.
Medomak took the lead with five runs in the first. Brady Carter singled and Garrett Hutchins was hit by a pitch to set up an RBI single to Ethan Reed, a two-run single to Aiden Starr, and an RBI single to Zach Winpenny.
Oceanside batted around in the fourth for nine runs to take the lead for good.
Medomak added a run in the fifth when Reed singled and scored on a Starr sacrifice.
Hitting for Medomak were Reed and Winpenny with two singles each, and Carter and Starr one single each.
Also hitting for Oceanside were Brady Wadsworth with five singles, Alec Radley a home run and two singles (3RBI), Alex Bartlett three singles (3RBI), Connor Calderwood two doubles, Steve Dearborn and Elliot Luciz two singles each, and Noah Ames a single.
Radley, Luciz, and Bartlett combined for 12 strikeouts in the win (6H,2B). Reed, Winpenny, and Isiah Staples pitched in the loss (6K,22H,5B).
