Medomak Valley boys soccer team successfully defended their home turf during homecoming Saturday afternoon for a 5-0 win over the Lincoln Academy boys soccer team. The Panthers jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead, then out-hustled the Eagles for two more goals in the second frame.
The Panthers dominated every facet of the game, out-shooting the Eagles 21-3. Cameron Robinson had a quiet day in net with just two saves, thanks to solid defense from Jonathan Allard, Nick DePatsy, and Ollie Brown.
Three Medomak players put their heads together for the Panthers’ first goal of the night, scored just seven minutes and 22 seconds into the game. Jackson Vail headed the ball from the center to the left side. Tucker Prescott headed it back to the center, where Cameron Leach headed it in.
The Panthers struck again with 28:31 to go when Vail gave Prescott a little back pass in the box and Prescott rifled a shot past Lincoln keeper Karan Nair.
Nick DePatsy made it a 3-0 game at the half. Vail’s corner kick was centered by Cale Gee, and DePatsy headed it home for the Panthers.
Nine minutes into the second half, Medomak struck again to put the game away. Nair headed out an air ball and Leach collected it and scored at the left corner. One minute later, Leach scored his third goal of the game when he collected an Alvaro Valls shot off the crossbar and put it in.
Nair had eight saves and Liam Brinkler six in net for the Eagles.
