The Medomak Valley girls team earned a runner-up finish and the boys placed third at a five-team track and field meet held on Wednesday, April 30 in Farmington. Other schools at the meet included Maine Central Institute, Gardiner, Cony, and the host school Mt. Blue.
Four Panthers logged wins for the girls team. Scarlett Flint won the 100m dash in 13.66; Sienna Lee won the 800m run in 2:56; Ava Collamore earned first in the 1600m in 5:40; and Olivia Burgess won the 300m hurdles in 56.55.
The quartet of Ava Collamore, Kaylee Collamore, Lyra Puchalski, and Amber Pendleton won the 4x400m girls relay in 4:38. Ava Collamore, Kaylee Collamore, Pendleton, and Haylee Chandler won the 4x800m relay in 11:09.
Other top-five finishes for the Lady Panthers included Maggie Bruno, second in the 300m hurdles; Pendleton, second in the 400m and fifth in the 200m; Chandler, third in the 400m; Burgess, fourth in the 100m; Anna Cheesman, third in the 800m; Kaylee Collamore, fourth in the 1600m; Ella McClean, third in the high jump and fourth in the long jump; Abby Kopishke, fourth in the high jump; and Puchalski, fifth in the triple jump.
Boys results
Evan Rush won both the long jump (17’7.5”), and the triple jump (39’9”) to lead the Panthers boys team. The quartet of Reid Grindle, Grady Pease, Juan Carlson, and Evan Rush won the 4×100 boys relay in a time of 49.6.
Other top-five finishes for the Panthers boys included Pease, second in the 100m dash and fifth in the shot put; Atticus Blue, fourth in the 200m dash; Jameson Frost, fifth in the 200m dash; Colby Daigle, second in the 1600m; Nathan Legere, third in the 1600m; Diego Simmons, fifth in the 3200m; and Andrew Flanders, fifth in the discus.
