Panthers Nip Eagles, Blown Out By Camden

Medomak 51 – Erskine 45The Panthers sharpened their defensive claws in the third quarter and pounced on the offensive end to out score Erskine 19-5 and take a 37-26 lead into the fourth quarter. The Eagles battled hard in the fourth, but were unable to shake Medomak, falling 51-45 in Waldoboro.

The two teams competed evenly in first half action, with Medomak holding a 10-9 lead at the quarter and Erskine a 21-18 lead at the half. Alex MacKenzie took over offensively in the third, scoring 13 of his game high 27 points to give the Panthers the lead for good. Erskine pulled within five, but fell further behind when they were forced to foul and Medomak made five of six foul shots in the final 1:10.

Scoring for Medomak were MacKenzie 22 (14R,3S, 9 of 10 at line), Alex Goldrup 15 (8R, 3 of 4 at line), Jason Vinal 3 (3 of 4 at line), and John Bartlett, Kevin Fogg and Daniel Abuel 2 each. Scoring for Erskine were Nick Grady and Devon Veilleux 13 each, Garrett Holt 8, Steven Wight 5, Tyler Harvey 4 and Camilo Pardo 2.
