Third seeded Presque Isle eliminated the Lady Panthers from the East Class B tournament Friday night in Bangor, 62-34. Medomak led briefly in the first quarter when Danielle Dyer settled a three in the opening minutes. The hot shooting Wildcats of Presque Isle rattled off 10 straight points to take the lead for good.
Presque Isle led 16-5 at the quarter. The Wildcats led by as much as 15 in the second period. Medomak scrambled back in the second frame, pulling within four at the half, 28-24. Lindsay Ranquist scored off her own steal and scored at the line for a three point play. Erica Tolman crashed the glass for two and Jasmyn Rose scored off her own steal to pull within eight. Hayley Johnston and Rose traded hoops, and Krista Coffin hit one at the line for Presque Isle, before Medomak scored four straight to pull within four. Lacy Massengale scored on a Rose feed and Dyer hit a three. The two squads traded points the final 1:45 of the half.
Caitlyn Esancy boosted the Wildcats’ lead to six at the start of the third quarter. Medomak pulled within two when Alanna Vose grabbed a defensive rebound and dribbled coast to coast and Rose scored an easy two off her own steal. The Wildcats answered the threat with an eight point run, ending the frame with a 41-31 lead.
Opening the final quarter with 11 straight points, the Wildcats connected on 15 of 22 foul shots to pull out the win. The Panthers had 10 turnovers in the final quarter. Medomak’s shooting went cold in the final frame, connecting on just one shot, a 3-pointer from Ranquist.

Scoring for Presque Isle were Esancy 20, Sarah Porter 14 (12R), Kayla Richards 10 (5S), Chelsea Nickerson 8, Johnston 4, Hannah Cheney 2 (5R,3S), and Krista Coffin 2.
