Portland clipped Midcoast 14 Babe Ruth All-stars 4-2 on July 15 at the State tournament in Augusta. Danny Tocci collected the win, and Joey Curtis took the loss.
Midcoast led 2-1 after two innings. Jonah Carlson singled, moved over on an error and Nate Coombs single and scored on a Dylan Abbot ground out. Tue Crane singled in Coombs.
Portland plated two runs in the fourth to take the lead on a RBI single to Matthew Breese and RBI ground out to Brayden Young. They added a run in the sixth when Sam Sabontini reached on an error and scored on a Cole Walker single.
Hitting for Midcoast were Coombs, Aiden Schecter, Curtis, Ethan Reed, Sam Moody, Jonah Carlson and Brandon Cournoyer a single each, Hitting for Portland were Cole Walter with three singles, Tocci two singles, and Jame Hawkes, Sam DeSalle and Breese with a single each
