Rockland’s Abby Herson and Belfast’s Luis Mauser set new course records in the Busline League cross-country championships, held at Medomak Middle School on Oct. 15. Camden won the girls’ race with 59 points, followed by Lincolnville 68, Boothbay 70, GSB 107, Rockland 124, Belfast 162, Medomak 164, Searsport 173 and Appleton 195.
Belfast won the boys’ race with 46 points, followed by Lincolnville 69, Medomak 104, Camden 113, Boothbay 119, GSB 144, Rockland 148, Searsport 172, and Appleton had no team score.
Herson won the girls’ race in 13:47. GSB had two scoring runners in the top 10. Teiga Martin placed seventh in 15:16 and Olivia York ninth in 15:23. Also running for the Cougars were 18. Maggie Nevans, 16:25; 34. Elizabeth Simonds, 19:00; 39. Victoria Yurko, 19:47; 40. Thalia Eddyblouin, 19:50; and 46. Claire Eugley, 20:49.
Hannah Marks led Medomak with a 19th place finish in 16:26. Also running for the Riverhawks were 31. Ellen True, 18:29; 32. Shannon Staples, 18:35; 37. Rebekah Hill, 19:19; 45. Jenny McKay, 20:28; 48. Anne Ricker, 21:02; and 51. Anne Bartlett, 21:42.
Boothbay’s Sophia Thayer placed second in 14:08, and Morgan Crocker took 10th in 15:32. Also running for Boothbay were 11. Katie Hilscher, 15:41; 20. Mayla Schwehm, 16:36; 27. MacKenzie Colby, 17:33; 35. Genevieve Taylor, 19:06; and 50. Maggie MacAllister, 21:39.
Medomak’s Glenn Weeks took ninth in 14:16 and Alexander Caseas 10th in 14:27, followed by teammates: 22. Alex Kenniston, 15:26; 23. Michael Wadsworth, 15:31; 40. Dwight Montgomery, 17:03; 41. Lucas Oldroyd, 17:05; and 50. Bradley Kaboskie, 18:22.
Boothbay’s Robert Campbell placed seventh in 14:08, followed by 13. Robert Perry, 14:40; 30. Myron Hahn, 16:15; 34. Caleb Colby, 16:26; 35. Matthew Burnham, 16:29; 37. Tyler Mercier, 16:48; and 38. Zach Vise, 16:50.
