Lincoln Academy and Wiscasset swim teams broke relay records in their first home meet of the season on Jan. 16. Wiscasset boys broke the 200 medley relay record in 1:49.54, and Lincoln Academy girls broke the 400 relay record in 4:11.62.
Wiscasset won the 200 medley relay with Tim George, John McLeod, Ross Hanley and Dre Kuhnel swimming a leg in the record breaking race. They also won the 200 free relay in 1:41 with Zuhnel, Brandon Campbell, Hanley and George, and placed 2nd in the 400 free relay in 4:28 with Brian Campbell, Ryan Urguart, Brandon Campbell and McLeod.
George won the 200 free in 1:59 and 100 back in 59.33. Kuhnel won the 50 free in 24.75 and 100 free in 54.66. Hanley was 2nd in the 100 fly in 1:03. Brandon Campbell took 2nd in the 100 breast in 1:23 and 3rd in the 100 free in 1:04. McLeod was 2nd in the 200 free in 2:05. Brian Campbell took 3rd in the 200 IM in 2:53 and 4th in the 100 fly in 1:15. Urguart was 4th in the 50 free in 30.21.
For Lincoln, Steven Severance won the 100 breast in 1:23 and was 4th in the 100 free in 1:06. Peter Huntington was 2nd in the 200 IM in 2:36 and 3rd in the 100 fly in 1:10. Julian Howland was 3rd in the 100 back in 1:34 and 5th in the 50 free in 30.51. Matthew Merrit was 5th in the 200 free in 2:37. Zachariah Merrit was 5th in the 100 back in 1:47.
The Eagles took 2nd in the 200 free relay in 1:54 with Severance, Howland, Merritt, and Huntington, and were 3rd in the 400 free relay in 4:30 with Severance, M. Merritt, Howland and Huntington.
Lincoln girls won the 400 free relay in a record breaking time of 4:11.62 with Anna Lee, Elin S-Gardiner, Emily Whitaker and Kelsea Miller swimming a leg. The Lady Eagles took 2nd in the 200 medley relay in 2:32 with Carolyn MacDonald, Katie Jackson, Allison Fisher and Miller, and 3rd in the 200 free relay in 2:12 with Fisher, Miller, MacDonald and Jackson.
Jackson was 2nd in the 50 free in 30.06, and 4th in the 100 back in 1:17. MacDonald took 2nd in the 100 breast in 1:37 and 4th in the 500 free in 7:27. Fisher was 4th in the 200 free in 2:37. Whitaker was 5th in the 200 free in 3:10 and 6th in the 100 back in 1:37.
For Wiscasset, Rachel Hanley took 3rd in the 500 free in 6:17 and Heather Hodgdon was 4th in the 50 free in 35.03 and 5th in the 100 back in 1:34.
