Medomak Middle School baseball brought home the first place trophy at the Busline League championships on June 11 at Medomak Valley High School. The Riverhawks defeated Boothbay 10-5 for the championship. John Murray collected the win in six and a third innings of work (5H,7B,8K) and Cody Ames got the save (2H,1K).
Boothbay took a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning. Medomak answered with five in the home half to take the lead for good. The Riverhawks added four in the 3rd and one in the 4th. Boothbay added one run in the 6th and three in the 7th.
Mike Kee led the Riverhawks at the plate, driving in three runs with a triple and double. Brandon Demmons had three hits, Brandon Soper two, Ryan Ripley a single and RBI, Kerry Maddon a single and RBI, and Cody Ames a single.
Hitting leaders for Boothbay were Steven Barter with a double and single and Jules Arsenault and Lincoln Simmons with two hits each.
