Mt.Abram boys basketball team defeated Wiscasset 67-50 on Jan. 14 in the Wolverines den. The two teams were tied 14-14 at the end of one, and Wiscasset led 31-28 at the half. The Wolverines built a six point lead in the third, before the Wolverine rim froze over and Wiscasset went scoreless for over seven minutes over two periods. Mt.Abram put a smaller and quicker line-up on the floor in the third to improve ball handling and their defensive efforts, and it paid off. By the end of the third period the Roadrunners led 50-42.
Wiscasset was led in scoring by Matt Chapman with 16 and Chris Loyola 14. Mt.Abram was led by Nathan Luce 18, Hunter Warren 12, and Kenyon Pillsbury and Jackson Masterson with 10 each.
