Snowstorm forces a condensed MVHS Holiday Classic

A foot of snow on Dec. 27 forced the postponement of the MVHS Holiday Classic to Dec. 30. Wiscasset boys’ and girls’ basketball teams were scheduled to play regular Mt. Valley Conference games against Mt. Abram that night so had to bow out of Medomak’s annual vacation tournament.

Games resultsLincoln boys’ 52 – Georges Valley 27The Eagles had no trouble getting past Georges Valley in the opening game of the tournament, 52-27. High scorers for the game were Ryley Leavitt with 20 for the Eagles and Ben Wallace with seven for the Buccaneers. Players of the game were R. Leavitt for Lincoln and Cy McGeady for Georges Valley. Boothbay boys 51 – Rockland 48Jordan Caron netted 16 and Dan Dickinson 13 to lead Boothbay over Rockland boys in game two. Hunter Grindle led the Tigers with 13. Players of the game were Dickinson for Boothbay and Grindle for Rockland. Medomak girls 42 – Boothbay 30The Lady Panthers defeated Boothbay 42-30 in game three of the tournament. Ericka Christensen netted 13, Alanna Vose 11 and Lindsay Ranquist 10 to lead Medomak. Sarah Caron scored 12 and Alexandra Andrews 9 to lead the Seahawks. Players of the game were Ranquist for Medomak and Andrews for Boothbay. Medomak boys 71 – Boothbay 62The Panthers grounded the Seahawks in the nightcap game of the tournament. John Murray led Medomak with 23 and Alex Greenrose chipped in nine. Jake Simmons led Boothbay with 11. Players of the game were A.
